Hello everybody! I know I haven’t posted here in a while. A lot has happened in my life. Today, I want to ask your for your help. I have created a GoFundMe to help my grandmother remodel her home which is in very poor conditions. Any donation you can give us will be greatly appreciated.
My name is Karla. My grandmother is my biggest inspiration and I want to improve her quality of life. She is the purest soul you will ever meet and she has taken care of me since I was born. She lives in an apartment with my mother. This apartment has many issues and I would like to help them remodel it so that they can be more comfortable. However, neither me nor my mom have enough money to do this. We have tried to fix the apartment by ourselves and with the help of others but this has not been enough.
The apartment is located in a very busy street. This means there’s a lot of noise and dust coming from public transportation. Thus, the apartment is always covered in dust, resulting in the air we breathe being very dirty and unhealthy for everyone. The windows are broken, so all the dust comes right in, and the noise is unbearable… to the point where sometimes we can’t even hear each other during a conversation.
Currently we only have one working bathroom because we had to remove all the appliances (sink, toilet) from the other one due to humidity affecting the apt below.
I have tried to fix the kitchen but the countertop is also damaged and water leaks constantly from it, making it difficult to cook and to keep it clean since water gets inside the tile cracks.
It is my dream to help my mother and my grandmother. This apartment was bought by my grandfather 20 years ago at a very low price and he was never able to remodel it. He always told my grandmother he would, but he never could.
I would like to fulfill this promise to my grandmother. I want to make her comfortable in her own home.
With the help you can give us we plan to repair the windows, change the floors, fix the bathroom and get a new countertop for the kitchen. This would completely turn around their lives. The process will be updated here so that you can see how the funds are being used.
